Home Wood in Bollier in the Mary Valley
Here we support clients of all ages in addressing therapeutic goals, should clients wish to engage with nature then we offer a peaceful location where we work alongside nature and horses who are our assistants, co-facilitators, and teachers in this process.
This could be something as simple as a walk and talk in our forest or by our dam or a little more interaction by building an obstacle course which could be a projection of worries or a situation and then ask the client to lead a horse around it, to assist the client in gaining a better understanding of the concerns.
We just love our work especially our contract we are proud to have with Autism Camp Australia

Counselling
Professional Counselling
Helping you to gain a better understanding of yourself and then have more ability to solve your problems while helping you explore and resolve issues that are interpersonal or personal in nature. The counsellor will focus on specific problems, helping you make changes in your life and fostering your well-being. At Homewood, you can choose to have this in the airconditioned cabin or outside, surrounded by nature wherever possible (weather-dependent) and potentially walk and talk or sit and talk under the trees.
Sand Tray Therapy
Is a holistic approach to counselling where we will use miniature objects that represent all aspects of life, and the client will display their inner world. It is a deep process which shows the client what underlies the current situation that they are presenting. Sand play allows a movement within the client that is profound. It identifies unspoken issues and brings solutions. Sand play is for everyone. Children love it and adults marvel at it.
Equine-Assisted Therapy
Equine-Assisted Therapy (EAT) uses interactions with horses to support therapeutic goals, offering a unique approach to healing and personal growth. This form of therapy can aid in addressing emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges by fostering connection, confidence, and communication skills in a non-judgmental setting.
Nature-Based Therapy
Nature-Based Therapy (NBT) is a therapeutic approach that harnesses the healing power of the natural environment to promote mental, emotional, and physical well-being. By integrating activities and experiences in natural settings, NBT offers a restorative alternative to traditional therapy, helping clients connect with themselves, others, and the environment.
Nature Based Therapy
Encourages participants to immerse their senses in nature and sally will provide therapeutic interventions that may incorporate, trees, plants, natural materials, and the elements of nature which can assist clients to feel better emotionally, and physically it helps reduce blood pressure, lower the heart rate, decrease muscle tension, and the reduction and production of stress hormones.
Being in nature, or even viewing scenes of nature, reduces anger, fear, and stress and increases pleasant feelings. Sally has developed several activities for children and families to do together to reconnect with nature.
Since the arrival of Morris, Molly Secret and Saari our therapy cows they have had training and have proved to be real characters, we can offer mindfulness sessions with Morris, Molly and Saari allowing clients to hang out with the cows and potentially get a wet kiss from Morris or Molly or Sarri.
